Videoclip 2: Story of bandits on the Silk Road by Ahir
"We are bandits, my company and I, you may say it's an odd career choice, but my friend I ask you why? The pay is great and there is no shortage of work on the road upon which we are based.
Merchants from east and west travel across the Silk Road, their caravans carry many goods, from silks, linens, and jewels, to porcelains, spices and gold. Every day is exciting, and every time the sun rises, there are new challenges to be faced. We took the road south of Taklamakan, it takes less time to cross I said. We were told of bandit attacks, but I insisted. Everyone warned us it was risky. How risky it was I would find out firsthand.
Although we may seem untrustworthy, we aren't that bad a troupe. We are as close as a family, it's really quite a nice group.
Some routes are safe to cross, there is not much danger, but our route south of Taklamakan was dangerous. Everyone warned us it was risky. How risky it was I was going to find out firsthand. Sure we feel bad, because it isn't easy living the life as a bandit everyday. The attack on our caravan was quick and smooth, every move perfect. The bandits took all we had. Everyone warned us it was risky, how risky it was I was finding out firsthand.
Sometimes we have to contend with bodyguards because people don't ask to be robbed. But at the end of it all, there's only one thing I can say. I tried to stand up to them, but for these men I was no match. I fell by the side of the Silk Road, bleeding from a wound to my head. Everyone warned us it was risky. How risky it was I had seen firsthand.
It's them or us, even bandits need...I mean not everyone can do it, you try robbing in that heat. As I lay dying by the side of the Silk Road, I thought that the Road that had given me wealth as a merchant had now killed me. I should have listened when they warned me, how risky it was I had found out firsthand.
The Silk Road is home to all kinds of people, merchants, pilgrims, and bandits like me, and if those in my profession are lucky, the Silk Road is sometimes walked by royalty."
